Who we are

Eira is operated by Caroline Strømhylden, a sole trader (enkeltpersonforetak) registered in Norway.

What data we collect

When you create a story with Eira, we collect:

  • Your email address (to deliver your story)
  • Your child's age (to shape the story appropriately)
  • A description of what your child is facing, and any optional details you choose to share
  • Payment confirmation from Stripe (we never see or store your card details)

We do not collect your child's name. We do not create user accounts. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to create and deliver your personalised story. Specifically:

  • Your story description is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the story text
  • The story text is sent to ElevenLabs to create the audio narration
  • Your email address is used by Resend to deliver your story
  • Your order details are stored in Supabase to process your order and handle any support queries

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any party except the processors listed above, who are bound by their own data protection agreements.

Marketing communications

If you opted in to receive updates from Eira, we may occasionally send helpful ideas for supporting your child through difficult moments. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us at hello@helloeira.com.

How long we keep your data

We retain your order data for 12 months from the date of your purchase. After this period, your personal details (email address, story description, and audio file) are deleted. A anonymised record of the transaction is retained for accounting purposes as required by Norwegian law.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Data security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Story audio files are stored in secure cloud storage with access-controlled signed URLs.
